Notes:
ELSS defines a page as 200 English words for editing or English to Japanese translation, or as 400 moji including spaces and punctuation for Japanese to English translation. Pages are rounded to the nearest tenth of a page. All prices outside of parentheses exclude sales tax, which clients outside Japan do not have to pay.
- In rare cases, a surcharge of no more than 100% will be applied to editing that requires extensively more time and effort than usual due to insufficient author preparation or writing that is severely flawed in ways unrelated to language. There is no additional charge beyond the word count for figures and tables unless there are more than 2 figures and tables per page, in which case 1 additional page will be added to the bill (seikyusho) for each 3 figures and tables (or portion thereof).
- Weekends, Japanese national and ELSS holidays excluded.
- Jobs that exceed these Maximum pages limits will have the deadlines for that speed of service extended by 1 day for each 15 p of editing or 6 p of translation (or portion thereof).
